When multiple materials are assigned to the same work center for processing in a certain time zone, it is necessary to determine the processing order of these materials, that is, the relative priority between the operations. In essence, this is a question of verifying whether there is enough lead time. The following are several common methods for determining priorities.
1. Critical ratio (abbreviated as CR)
CR = (Required Date - Today's Date) / Remaining Planned Lead Time
The above formula compares the remaining time with the time required for processing (planned lead time), and four situations may occur:
(1) CR = negative value: It means that the payment has been delayed.
(2) CR=1: The remaining time is just enough.
(3) CR>1: There is enough time left.
(4)、CR<1:剩余时间不够。
Obviously, the smaller the CR value, the higher the voltage level. After the processing of one material is completed, the CR value of the remaining materials will change and need to be adjusted at any time.
2. Least Slack per Operation (LSPO)
Time difference is also called buffer time or slack time.
LSPO = (planned completion date of the workpiece - today's date - remaining processing time) / number of remaining processes
In the formula, the remaining processing time refers to the sum of the lead times of the remaining processes. Obviously, the smaller the LSPO value, that is, the shorter the average buffer time that can be allocated to the remaining unfinished processes, the higher the priority.
3. Earliest Due Date
The earlier the completion date is, the higher the priority of the order. When using this rule, be cautious about orders at the initial process and it is necessary to review them with the LSPO rule. This rule is more suitable for judging various orders with similar processing routes or various orders that are close to the completion process.
There are many rules for determining process priorities, but they must be simple and clear for easy use by workshop personnel.
